SEO Audit

With the SEO Audit tool, you generate comprehensive, clear reports on the SEO health of your online store. Instantly identify technical issues, optimize your loading times, and improve your content to score higher in search engines. You can easily download these reports as a PDF and share them with your team or web developer.

Please note: SEO Audits are only available with Growth and Pro subscriptions and cost approximately 25 credits. This is because we simultaneously have different parts tested by different AI agents.

How do you start an SEO Audit?

You can find the tool in the dashboard under Tools > Store Health > SEO Audit. You have two ways to run an audit:

1. Manual Audit

Want to check the current status of your online store right away?

  • Verify the Store URL (your linked domain is used by default, but you can easily overwrite this to test a specific URL).
  • Click on 'Run new audit'. The tool will now analyze a representative selection of your pages (such as the homepage, product pages, and category pages).

2. Automated Audits

For continuous monitoring, you can automate the audits. Under Automated Audits, choose your desired frequency:

  • Disabled (default)
  • Every week
  • Every 2 weeks
  • Every month

Understanding the SEO Report

Once the audit is complete, it will appear in your History. Click on a report to view the details. The report is divided into an Overall Score and specific themes:

Technical SEO

This section checks the foundation and crawlability of your online store.

  • Typical action items: Removing unintended noindex/nofollow tags, maintaining exactly one unique H1 tag per page, filling in missing image alt texts, and consolidating your XML sitemap.

PageSpeed and Performance

Here you will see the scores for both Mobile and Desktop, based on Google PageSpeed Insights.

  • Important metrics: Time to interaction (INP & TBT) and loading times (FCP & LCP).
  • Typical action items: Optimizing images (e.g., with WebP), implementing lazy loading for images, and deferring heavy third-party JavaScript files.

SEO Content

Assesses whether your texts and metadata are structured in a search engine-friendly way.

  • Typical action items: Writing unique meta descriptions for all pages, naturally incorporating relevant keywords into headings, and adding FAQ sections with structured data to key category pages.

SEO Usability

Analyzes the user experience, such as the navigation structure. Good usability increases your conversions and serves as a positive signal for search engines.

Taking Action and Exporting

At the end of the report, you will find the Key Recommendations. This is a prioritized to-do list that you can work with immediately to boost your score.

In addition, the audit suggests relevant Recommended Apps that can help you automate technical adjustments.

Want to share the report? Click on 'Download PDF' at the top of the completed report. This allows you to save the full analysis locally and easily forward it to your marketing agency, developer, or the rest of your team.
